This is interesting as hell because on the one hand, it’s you and your identity and you can / should be referred to HOWEVER THE H YOU WANNABE… But on the other hand, it’s hard to explain simply/precisely who you date without a word.
Literally this perfection. I am personally so not gellin’ with being called ’“a lesbian,” like ever. Cuz if you call someone a lesbian it sounds like their defining characteristic, but gay is an adjective that can be applied to a person, which is so much better. Usually if someone says “he’s a gay” it sounds derogatory, but “she’s a lesbian” is totally acceptable even though it feels to me, personally, to hold the same impersonal connotation. Like, I’m not a sexuality; I’m a person.
It’s like being called “a short,” cuz I’m short. Nah man Ima short person.
